2013-03-27
MONTREAL, CANADA, NXT Capital's Venture Finance Group today announced the closing of a $4.5 million venture loan to Vantrix, a leading provider of message and video bandwidth optimization solutions.
NXT Capital's Venture Finance Group today announced the closing of a $4.5 million venture loan to Vantrix, a leading provider of message and video bandwidth optimization solutions for carriers, ISPs and enterprises. Vantrix will use growth capital from the loan to fund strategic growth initiatives.

Vantrix's bandwidth optimization platforms help carriers, ISPs and enterprises reduce the network impact of increased demand for streaming video, which, according to Cisco Systems, is expected to represent more than 67% of all network traffic by 2017.

Vantrix's uniquely architected software solution allows customers to dynamically adjust video traffic to meet the constraints of their existing networks while maintaining end-user quality and also enabling opportunities to monetize the growing traffic. Vantrix is backed by Summerhill Venture Partners, Tudor Growth Equity, BDC Capital and JK&B Capital, among others.

"Vantrix is committed to developing advanced optimization technologies to help our customers adapt to and take advantage of unprecedented growth in video traffic", said Jim Knapik, Chief Executive Officer, Vantrix. "NXT Capital Venture Finance has developed a strong understanding of our business and technological vision. NXT's investment in Vantrix will help drive strong market growth with attractive terms that support our near-term profitability goals."

"We are excited to be a part of the Vantrix team," said Matt Eaton, Senior Associate, NXT Capital Venture Finance. "Vantrix's video bandwidth optimization solutions are backed by industry leading technologies that have been developed and honed through more than a decade of research and development."
