Tracelytics Raises Seed Funding

2011-11-04
Tracelytics announced the launch of its SaaS-based application performance management (APM) solution, as well as seed funding from Battery Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners, Google Ventures, and several prominent angel investors.
PROVIDENCE, RI, Tracelytics today announced the launch of its SaaS-based application performance management (APM) solution, as well as seed funding from Battery Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners, Google Ventures, and several prominent angel investors.

As web applications become more complex and distributed, developers and operations engineers continue to use tools that are siloed and only give a surface view of performance issues. Tracelytics provides visibility into complex, distributed web applications by collecting information about the performance and behavior of requests across software layers and machines.

"Our solution is built to understand scalable architectures," said Spiros Eliopoulos, Co-founder and CEO. "We go wide across an entire infrastructure, and we can still filter and drill-down on performance data while not sacrificing the data's fidelity."

Tracelytics is launching as the only APM solution to provide a holistic view of complex, distributed web applications across multiple software layers, machines, and languages. The solution is available for applications written in any combination of PHP, Python, and Ruby.

"Ensuring complex web applications perform properly is a mission critical task. Unfortunately it's usually an expensive, frustrating, time sink for engineers and application owners everywhere," said Sunil Dhaliwal, general partner, Battery Ventures. "We backed Tracelytics because their team has the skill and the vision to deliver an amazing and powerful performance management solution, that is also blindingly simple to use, for large and small customers alike. There is no doubt that they are the future of web application performance."

"By erasing boundaries between applications, layers and hosts, we now understand hard-to-quantify and long-standing questions about system behavior in our production environment," said Mark Niedzielski, VP Operations, Ourstage. "Tracelytics has clearly changed the way we work."

Tracelytics is in limited release, and is offering special pricing and access to to early sign-ups. For more information, visit www.tracelytics.com.
