Today at Structure 2013, ThousandEyes, who provides IT performance management for the cloud era, announced that it has partnered with Sequoia Capital and raised $5.5 million in Series A funding from Sequoia and prominent Silicon Valley angel investors. The company plans to use the funding to further accelerate its roadmap and growth.

"Enterprises adopting cloud applications are now reliant on networks outside their environment which they have no visibility into, making it extremely hard for IT teams to understand what is causing service degradations," said Mohit Lad, co-founder and CEO of ThousandEyes. "We have developed unique technology that addresses gaps with legacy tools and are excited to officially launch today and enter into the next phase of our company's growth."

ThousandEyes emerged from stealth today and launched a new product that, for the first time, provides detailed visibility into the performance of cloud applications and helps IT teams resolve problems quickly. ThousandEyes customers include members of the Fortune 500, Equinix, Evernote, Priceline, ServiceNow, Twitter, Zendesk and Zynga.
