STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, Tail-f Systems, the leading provider of configuration management and network automation software, today announced that it raised US$4 million in its second round of financing. Lead by SEB Venture Capital, the venture capital arm of the SEB Group, this round included full participation from all the founding investors.
"Tail-f Systems has achieved some amazing milestones in a relatively short period of time. ConfD has become the de facto choice for network equipment providers needing to build powerful standards-based management systems," said Patrik Westerberg, SEB Venture Capital. "Recently, Tail-f developed game-changing software that addresses critical pain points for service providers, and with this new funding the company is extremely well positioned to succeed in this large and growing market space."
Since its founding, Tail-f Systems has addressed the needs of network equipment providers with powerful software that allows its customers to build new management platforms in less time with less risk. Tail-f is the clear market leader in this space with 7 of the 10 largest network equipment providers among its customers.
In 2010 Tail-f Systems launched a new family of software called NCS. A model-driven software solution for automated service and network configuration, NCS provides powerful benefits for service providers. Service providers have long been dependent on a combination of outdated complex systems and manual processes which today operate at close to breaking point. Reviews from evaluations and trials of NCS indicate that the product radically streamlines service delivery and reduces OPEX.
Tail-f will use this round of funding to capitalize on the potential of NCS and build the business development, sales, and channel ecosystem infrastructure necessary to deploy network automation solutions into the service provider market.
"The team at SEB and our founders are a huge asset to our company. Together, they have worked closely with the management team to define and fund a winning strategy for Tail-f Systems," said Fredrik Lundberg, CEO, Tail-f Systems. "As a company we have never been better positioned and I look forward to a very exciting next few years."
