NEW YORK, NY, Developer of a mobile job discovery marketplace, announced today the closing of $1.4 million in seed round funding.
Switch, the developer of a mobile job discovery marketplace, announced today the closing of $1.4 million in seed round funding. The company plans to use the funding to build out the Switch team based in New York City and scale into other major technology markets across the United States, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Austin, and Washington, D.C. The seed financing was led by Rhodium and Metamorphic Ventures with additional participation from BAM Ventures, SG VC, and strategic New York-based angel investors.
Switch provides job seekers with a free, convenient, and anonymous place to connect directly with businesses looking to hire. By moving job sourcing to an easy-to-use mobile application, employers and candidates can be matched up with a smartphone swipe and start communicating immediately through Switch's chat platform. With Switch, vetting is quick but comprehensive. The hiring process can move forward to the interview stage within minutes and hours, as opposed to the days and weeks characteristic of the traditional time-consuming and costly application process.
'Switch is the perfect solution for technology savvy firms looking for a low-key, high-reward way to connect privately with job candidates,' said Yarden Tadmor, CEO and Founder of Switch. 'It is not just about the job seeker; it's also a social recruiting tool to help internal recruiters save on agency recruiting fees and activate job seekers by quick, direct communication.'
From its New York office, Switch is currently helping many dynamic technology and digital media companies' source candidates. Clients include Facebook, Yahoo, Crowdtap, Taboola, Dropbox, Wikipedia, MadisonLogic, Dstillery, Gartner, SoundCloud, and more.
Switch solves the key concern for job seekers, especially those currently employed: privacy. Switch automatically generates an anonymous profile using existing resume data, allowing job seekers to connect, directly and discreetly, with hiring managers and internal recruiters at their dream companies.
'As we know, hunting for a job and looking for candidates is very time-consuming, repetitive, and very confidential. We believe Switch is modernizing a theme that's been around forever in a frictionless, fast, and discreet way,' said David Hirsh, Managing Partner of Metamorphic Ventures.
Daniel Recanati, CEO of Rhodium, who has joined the board of Switch, added: 'Hiring top talent is key to the success of any company, especially in today's fast moving environment. Switch's anonymous job discovery platform enables companies to tap into quality pool of candidates, which are not necessarily actively seeking to change position. We are thrilled to partner with Yarden and the rest of Switch's team, and to help them disrupt the recruiting industry.'
Switch is building the first social recruiting tool to connect hiring managers with passive job seekers. As an anonymous job marketplace, Switch allows job seekers to privately discover their next career move with nothing more than a swipe of their smartphone screen. Swipe left to like, swipe right to pass. When the hiring manager matches, the two are placed in direct contact via the app's communication platform. Let the hiring begin!
