Sonder launches today to meet the demands of travelers who desire the authenticity of peer-to-peer home rental plus the dependable, elevated services of a hotel. Each hometel is exclusively managed by Sonder and must meet a 237-point checklist before joining the collection. 'According to a recent travel trends report, of the 16 percent of Americans who have booked a peer-to-peer rental, 40 percent say they still prefer hotels,' said Francis Davidson, Sonder CEO and co-founder. Sonder Raises $10 Million in Series A from Spark Capital
Sonder announced that it has raised $10 million in financing led by Spark Capital, with participation from Thayer Ventures, Real Ventures, BDC Capital, and others. The funds will allow the company to focus on growth initiatives such as expanding into new cities, enhancing the guest experience and onboarding key new hires. The Series A brings the total amount raised to $15 million.
