Sidecar Drives Off with $15M

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, SideCar has raised $15 million from existing investors Avalon Ventures and Union Square Ventures, plus Richard Branson.
SideCar has raised $15 million to help fuel Shared Rides and its nationwide expansion. The firm's existing investors Avalon Ventures and Union Square Ventures participated in this round. Sir Richard Branson has joined as a new investor.

Sidecar is a ride app that connects everyday drivers with people nearby for safe and affordable rides. In May 2014, Sidecar introduced Shared Rides, which matches people with a nearby rider heading the same direction and cuts the cost in half.
