MARLBOROUGH, MA, SepSensor, a developer of wireless sensing and monitoring technology for the food service industry, has raised $1 million in a round of venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Twenty-three separate investors participated in the offering.

SepSensor helps food service operators monitor and manage grease interceptor performance utilizing advanced sensing technology and wireless monitoring. Food service industry operators now have the ability to view the status of all grease interceptors at their fingertips. SepSensor's monitoring service allows operators to efficiently schedule pumping, prevent disruptions in business by avoiding system backups, and help meet regulator standards for effluent discharge.
