REDWOOD SHORES, CA, Rumble, a new game publisher that will deliver immersive and accessible game titles to the Web, Mobile and Facebook, today announced it has closed a Series A funding round of $15 million. The round was jointly led by Silicon Valley venture firms, Google Ventures and Khosla Ventures. The firms join Rumble's seed investors, including Rick Thompson, former CEO of Playdom, who led the initial round of financing.

Rumble will develop free-to-play games that are instantly accessible and playable across a variety of devices and social networks, all while offering the deep engagement of console games. In addition to creating its own games, Rumble will offer the world's leading independent developers a publishing platform that empowers them to focus on what they do best -- making great games.

"Every early stage company with big ambitions needs great investors and we feel blessed to have added two world class organizations to the Rumble family," said Greg Richardson, CEO of Rumble. "We have a shared belief that the future of games is in creating experiences as engaging and entertaining as the most beloved console franchises, delivered to fit the digital lifestyle of today's consumers."

Rumble, formed earlier this year, has already built one of the most experienced teams in the gaming industry. Richardson, previously CEO of Bioware/Pandemic, vice president and general manager of EA Partners and formerly of Elevation Partners, brings more than 15 years of gaming expertise to the company. The executive team, which includes Mark Spenner, David O'Connor and John Yoo, has a combined 70+ years of experience from gaming giants such as Electronic Arts, BioWare, Activision and Zynga.

"Rumble is bringing innovation to the gaming experience in a way that is truly going to revolutionize the category," said Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures. "We're looking forward to seeing the first title released next year and believe the publishing platform is going to attract the most talented developers in the world."

"The gaming industry is undergoing a massive online transition and Rumble has a strong vision and team to deliver a unique blend of instantly accessible, high quality games that can be played anywhere," said Karim Faris, partner, Google Ventures. "We're looking forward to helping them grow the business."
