BOSTON, MA, Baby monitor maker Rest Devices Inc. has closed $1.3 million in new seed funding.
Boston baby monitor maker Rest Devices Inc. has closed $1.3 million in new seed funding, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The funding was raised by Cambridge-based The Experiment Fund, along with other investors including Andy Palmer, serial entrepreneur and founder of Cambridge startup space Koa Labs.

Rest Devices makes simple and human-centered devices that help keep people healthy and relaxed. We're obsessed with making monitoring and data radically simple for people. Ultimately, we want every product we make to be as simple, comfortable, and accurate as humanly possible. And from that, Mimo was made. Rest was initially focused as a medical device development company, until parents started asking us if we could use our sensors to monitor their baby's respiration. After a little bit of research and testing, we enthusiastically said yes! and haven't looked back since.

We work to create products that parents can rely on and which can create better (and more!) rest for both a baby and his/her mom and dad. And, in addition, we have a ton of fun working with parents, kids, and babies to figure out how best we can help them; helping families with simple engineering solutions is pretty much the best job around.
