Rallyhood, a cloud-based community collaboration platform, today announced the closing of $1.7 million for a total of $3.2 million Series A financing. The additional financing will be used to grow users, expand partnerships with schools, scouts, healthcare providers and non-profits and to improve product usability.

"If the essence of life is community and how we interact with other individuals and groups, then Rallyhood is destined to be massively successful as it will become a critical component of our daily lives," said a lead investor, Tom Meredith, former CFO of Dell, former CFO of Motorola, current Chairman of Bazaarvoice.

'It's thrilling to watch how engaged our users are with Rallyhood,' said Patti Rogers, Founder and CEO. 'We are intently focused on delighting our customers by simplifying their everyday lives and the groups they care about.'

Rallyhood's web and mobile app allows groups to centralize communication, coordination, and sharing in one place--saving time and giving everyone a better experience. Rallyhood is designed to clear communication clutter for groups and organizations large and small.

Rallyhood has formed major partnerships with large organizational users, including Dell Children's Medical Center, LiveStrong Foundation, Komen Austin, and Girl Scout councils around the country. Rallyhood has also experienced organic growth among smaller communities like schools, fitness groups, small businesses, hobby groups, committees, and more.

'Collaboration was once an enterprise-only word. We're making it an everyone, everyday word. We are moving groups to a more effective means of organizing,' says Rogers. 'Clutter creates stress and results in a natural tendency to disengage. The simple truth is, when things are well organized, and in one place, it makes it easier to get involved and stay connected. Everyone wins.'

Since inception, Rallyhood has raised a total of $3.95 million.
