AUSTIN, TX, Quarri Technologies, the leading provider of on demand web information security solutions, today announced a $3 million Series B round of financing led by Houston Angel Network (HAN) and supported by Daylight Partners and other Texas angels. Quarri will use the proceeds to accelerate expansion into North America with its flagship product, Protect On Q. To date, the company has experienced significant growth in Europe, particularly within the manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial services markets.
Bill Morrow was named executive chairman to lead the company in establishing strong brand recognition both in the U.S. and abroad. With more than 20 years of business foundation and leadership experience, the company's recent name change-from Quaresso to Quarri-is Morrow's first step to creating a brand identity associated with providing solid, selective and secure technologies.
Quarri's products provide information and content security at the endpoint by enabling organizations to secure and control web sessions at any time, wherever they are and without the need for additional hardware or software. With Quarri, organizations can mitigate risk and ensure compliance-whether PCI, SOX or other regulatory measures-with data leakage protection from malware and user activities, such as copying, printing or saving sensitive information, including from browser-launched processes like Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Office.
"Today's web-based threats are not only leading to substantial data loss for companies, but also damage to their brand and reputation," said Morrow. "Organizations from a variety of industries around the world have come to rely on our award-winning Protect On Q product to secure their data in a flexible and seamless manner. This round of funding will enable our team to now deliver our best-of-breed web security solution to organizations based in North America, helping to expand the global footprint of the company."
Stuart Jackson, vice president and head of L.E.K. Consulting's Chicago office, has been named to the Quarri board of directors. He will join Bill Morrow, executive chairman, Quarri; Andrew Clark, Houston Angel Network; Thomas Oertli, chairman, Wizlynx Group; and Mark Elliott, founder and executive vice president of products, Quarri.
Additionally, Carter McCrary was named executive vice president of business development. With more than 25 years of business leadership experience, including founding and serving as a top executive at a variety of companies, McCrary will be responsible for leading Quarri Technologies' new business endeavors.
Quarri's headquarters have also been relocated to 7500 Rialto Boulevard in Austin, Texas.
