CAMBRIDGE, MA, New personal interview platform that lets you learn all about your friends, colleagues and favorite people, has launched out of beta today with $1.7 million in seed funding.
PushPage (www.pushpage.me), the new personal interview platform that lets you learn all about your friends, colleagues and favorite people, has launched out of beta today with $1.7 million in seed funding. PushPage is now available across multiple platforms including mobile (iOS).

Did you know Gary Vaynerchuk bites his toenails and dreams of owning the Jets? That Mitch Albom was an Elvis impersonator after college? That Guy Kawasaki once nearly died in a rip tide? That Jermaine Dupri is a Star Wars superfan? You can learn all this on the PushPages they've created.

'Over 5,000 people created PushPages during the beta period. They answered a variety of questions about their interests, hobbies, recommendations, and tastes,' said Meir Lakhovsky, co-founder of PushPage, who graduated from Harvard University in 2012 and interned at Facebook. 'Many questions on PushPage are not ones that come up in day-to-day conversation, so people are discovering a lot of interesting, unknown facts about their friends, coworkers, and celebrities.'

How it works:

Tell us a little about yourself. Upon signing up for PushPage, you are asked several rapid-fire questions ranging from practical ('What's your favorite meal?' 'Who's your favorite TV character?') to quirky ('What's something interesting about you most people don't know?').
Stay active. As a PushPage user, you're sent one new question to answer each week.
Learn cool facts about your friends. You can explore your friends' PushPages (example: pushpage.me/meir) or see aggregated responses to a single question (example: pushpage.me/pushpage/question/886).
Interact with your favorite people. You can comment on answers, and can propose new questions for your friends to answer.

A number of celebrities - actors (Skylar Astin), musicians (Imagine Dragons), athletes (Metta World Peace), authors (Daniel Pink), TV personalities (Farrah Abraham) - have turned to PushPage as a way to open up to their fans, and answer fan-generated questions in a structured way.

The company recently began testing PushPage Communities - a product extension that allows businesses, schools, teams and other organizations to set up a private instance of PushPage, in which answers are only viewable by coworkers/peers within the community. There are currently 25 customers using private PushPage Communities, mostly businesses and colleges around Boston - they view the tool as a mechanism to drive member engagement and create a strong sense of cohesiveness within the organization. PushPage Communities is now accepting new beta customers.

PushPage is based in Cambridge, MA, and is an alum of Harvard University's Innovation Lab. The company has raised $1.7 million in seed financing from investors led by Rose Park Advisors, Scott Sperling, Bob Pittman, Irving Azoff, Ido Leffler, Lance Kalish, John Kim and Rothenberg Ventures.
