Pingup, a developer of consumer-to-business text service, announced it has completed its $1 million seed financing round with major participation from the venture capital firm Avalon Ventures.

According to NE Tech Wire, Pingup is currently available nationwide for businesses to self-enroll, but has focused their launch efforts between Boston and Miami, where the company says it is "enjoying significant early adoption by both businesses and consumers." The company has a strategic partnership with the e-tailer Karmaloop which focuses on the "generation Y" market. With Pingup, users can get answers to questions or make table reservations at venues such as LIV Miami and Royale Boston.
