MANHATTAN BEACH, CA, Leader in efficient and powerful OpenStack solutions for service providers and the enterprise, today announced it has secured $10 million in Series D financing.
Morphlabs, the leader in efficient and powerful OpenStack solutions for service providers and the enterprise, today announced it has secured $10 million in Series D financing. The round, which was led by Tallwood Management and Entropy Research Lab and also included existing investor G2iG, brings the total capital raised by the company to $22.5 million since inception. Morphlabs will use the proceeds from this round to extend the company's leadership position in the Asia OpenStack market through an aggressive training and seminar program, and through its partnership with NEC.
Morphlabs OpenStack-powered mCloud solutions combine best-of-breed software and optimized hardware to deliver the most efficient open source cloud available today. OpenStack, the open source cloud operating system, is rapidly gaining momentum in Asia as a growing number of enterprises and service providers are deploying OpenStack-based infrastructures to power their public and private clouds.
'The investment from three leading investors such as Tallwood Management, Entropy Research Lab and G2iG is about much more than capital,' said Satoshi Konno, co-founder and GM of Asia Operations, Morphlabs. 'It's about accelerating the Asia OpenStack market and solidifying Morphlabs' leadership position in it. As an open source technology, OpenStack represents a paradigm shift for enterprises and service providers and our OpenStack Training for the Asian market will provide ideal support for our users and simplify the deployment of OpenStack clouds throughout the region.'
To meet this growing demand, Morphlabs is launching a comprehensive series of OpenStack training programs throughout Asia over the next three months, beginning in Manila on September 17th and including Jakarta, Singapore, Cebu and Hong Kong. The first training seminar in Manila will be immediately followed by an OpenStack Hack-a-thon called StackHack. The winning team at StackHack will be invited to attend the OpenStack Summit in Hong Kong later this year courtesy of Morphlabs and NEC.
NEC, a world-leading provider of communications technology and services, last month announced a partnership with Morphlabs to deliver pre-configured and certified mCloud Solutions with NEC Express 5800 servers.
