Miradore Closes 1.2M Euro Funding

2012-11-14
HELSINKI, FINLAND, Innovative enabler of automated IT and mobile device management services, today announced the closing of a 1.2 Million Euro funding round.
Miradore, an innovative enabler of automated IT and mobile device management services, today announced the closing of a 1,2 Million Euro funding round. The new backers include Inventure, a Finnish venture capital firm with offices in Helsinki, Finland and Shanghai, China, and Belgian ICT executive and industry influencer Willem Hendrickx.

Miradore enables organizations to manage the quickly increasing device diversity driven by the strengthening BYOD trend (Bring Your Own Device). Miradore provides IT personnel with a single dashboard for the unified remote management of a wide variety of computers, tablets and smartphones. As a result, organizations can grant their employees the freedom to choose the devices of their liking, boosting both productivity and employee satisfaction.

The investment will be used primarily to strengthen global sales. Miradore's key customer segments include managed service providers (MSPs) providing IT services to several end customers with diverse IT environments and retail chains with a number of geographically dispersed outlets. Key partners include Fujitsu America, which utilizes Miradore's technology in their point-of-sale (POS) management offering branded "Fujitsu Retail Systems Management, powered by Miradore".

"Miradore is on the verge of an international breakthrough," said Sami Lampinen, Managing Director at Inventure. "The core team has worked extremely hard to open doors to international markets and has shown great progress in building partnerships and scaling the business. With the new capital, they are better positioned to benefit from the sales potential in growth markets such as Asia and Brazil."

The investment round brings new members to Miradore's board of directors. Newly appointed members of the board are Sami Lampinen and Willem Hendrickx, who has served as an advisor to Miradore since June 2011. Currently SVP EMEA at Riverbed Technology, Willem Hendrickx has previously held executive positions at EMC and Tieto among others. He brings to Miradore his extensive expertise in building and developing direct and indirect global sales channels.

"Both enterprises and their IT service providers are struggling with the increasing device diversity", said Willem Hendrickx. "A different sort of device feels like a minor detail for end users, however the impact on IT management processes may be profound. As Miradore enables organizations to cope with this pressing issue, they are now meeting with very strong interest among service providers, integrators and value-added resellers in several markets."

The cloud-based Miradore management suite allows for centralized control and management of a wide variety of hardware and software. The management dashboard provides IT personnel with a view and reach of all iPads and iPhones, other tablets and smart phones, laptops and desktops in their corporate network. Scalable to tens of thousands of devices, the highly automated solution dramatically decreases manual workload.

"Unified management of diverse devices brings clear, fast and measurable benefits to organizations, through both more efficient processes and improvements in productivity," said Kristian Järnefelt, CEO of Miradore. "The funding round ensures we have the resources required for the next steps in our path to the global IT and mobile device management markets and the capability to serve both existing and new customers in an optimal way."
