NEW YORK, NY, MediaBrix, the leader in delivering contextual and emotionally targeted mobile brand experiences that drive deep engagement and user receptivity, announced today $6.5 million in funding.
The funding comes from Edison Partners, Revel Partners, and new investor Horizon Technology Finance. This news follows a profitable second quarter in 2016, signaling the company's strategic growth and bright outlook, echoed by MediaBrix being among the Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row. To continue its competitive trajectory, MediaBrix has also hired its first President and Global Chief Revenue Officer, Richard Kosinski, previously President, U.S. of video ad pioneer and recent News Corp acquisition, Unruly.
'For five years, we've been perfecting our approach to mobile advertising. By staying true to our principles of respecting a user, allowing brands to offer real value in dynamic ways, and always understanding it's a human that brands want to interact with, we've elevated the standards for our industry, so this milestone -- and the validation of our investors -- is beyond gratifying,' said Ari Brandt, CEO and co-founder of MediaBrix. 'With this funding, we will continue to ramp our programmatic offerings, invest in R&D and expand our data sciences team focused on consumer receptivity.'
This recent financing brings MediaBrix's total funding to $18 million since launching in 2011. During that time, MediaBrix has grown its revenue 741 percent, with a 43 percent compounded annual growth rate, and generated more than $100 million in total revenue, thus solidifying its place on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America for the second year in a row. Notably, MediaBrix recently posted a profitable second quarter, according to Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization measures.
'Consecutive quarters of profitable growth validate MediaBrix product differentiation and customer value delivered in an industry filled with ad solutions that consumers find annoying or have become blind to. Our faith in their mission has never been stronger,' said Ryan Ziegler, general partner of Edison Partners. 'MediaBrix has been driving innovation, and in turn driving company growth, for years, and we are glad to be at their side.'
Edison Partners and Revel Partners have been investors in MediaBrix for more than four years, and are now joined now by Horizon Technology, which is betting on MediaBrix's future following strong revenue growth. Other Horizon portfolio companies include Mblox, Lotame Solutions, and Social Intelligence.
To accelerate growth even further, MediaBrix has also hired President and Global Chief Revenue Officer Richard Kosinski, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience in digital media. Prior to serving as the U.S. president for Unruly, Richard held a variety of senior leadership roles in sales, marketing, and product development for notable media brands including: Yahoo!, Quantcast, The Wall Street Journal, and CNET.
'Since its inception, I've watched MediaBrix lead our industry by offering a distinct approach for brands to add value to the user experience in mobile - rewarding attention. With its focus on emotional engagement, MediaBrix can truly help brands drive performance, and I look forward to helping accelerate adoption as well as educating partners on the unique value we offer' said Kosinski.
2016 has already been a banner year for MediaBrix, including a Canadian expansion adding to offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, and New York. With major partnerships like Two Dots and Kik, MediaBrix is also now integrated with more than 1,000 leading apps to deliver five million emotional moments daily for brands such as Merck, AT&T, Hershey's, Ford, and more, at engagement rates 500 percent higher than traditional digital formats.
