The company's programs help clients develop a range of skills, including mindfulness meditation, conversational agility, positive body language, mindful eating, strength and range of motion, constructive criticism, confident speaking, and time management.
Mazlo's funding was led by its founders, including Polaris Partners. The funding will be used to develop the technology platform, create and develop additional programs, and fuel the launch to self-improvement-minded consumers and progressive employers.
'We saw an opportunity to apply what we had learned about coaching and behavior change while building our last company, Free & Clear, which became the leader in tobacco cessation,' said Tim Kilgallon, Mazlo's co-founder and CEO. 'Mazlo leverages the effectiveness of daily repetition and human accountability while embracing the realities of hectic schedules and undulating motivation levels. It's self-help transformed into a service.'
Mazlo's clients practice 10 minutes a day over two weeks to develop powerful new habits through daily, real-life practice and a continuous feedback loop with a dedicated coach. Clients are paired with coaches who have deep subject-matter expertise, along with accountability and counseling skills.
The online programs offer several key features to help individuals reach their potential, including:
A two-week curriculum made up of daily, ten-minute practical activities
Programs designed and presented by prominent subject-matter experts
A mobile-friendly user interface that delivers each day's activity and facilitates daily interaction with a personal coach
Interactive exercises for reflection, practice, and real-life planning
Private, 1:1 daily coaching delivered asynchronously via personal video message or written message
Mazlo differs from traditional self-improvement approaches like books, online courses, classes, and in-person coaching. Volumes of information on a given topic are distilled into short, daily, practical exercises delivered in convenient, affordable, and personalized two-week coaching programs. Mazlo's unique approach generates engagement rates that greatly exceed those of typical learning programs.
While Mazlo is directly available to consumers, it is also an innovative solution for employers and managers who want to offer their teams a choice of coaching programs for professional development. Mazlo's professional suite of programs include the following topics: Confident Speaking, Positive Body Language, Business Etiquette, Constructive Criticism, and Business Writing.
