Luminoso, a developer of software for that performs linguistic analysis on text, has raised $1.5 million in equity capital, according to a new filing by the company with the SEC.

With Luminoso, computers can work with text as easily as numbers. The company provides the first cloud-based, massively multilingual, scalable solution for understanding text. Luminoso's approach is based on over a decade of scientific research into common sense reasoning conducted at the MIT Media Lab.
