2016-04-26
DENVER, CO, Integrated Beverage Group, a wine company, has raised an undisclosed amount of second-round funding from Juggernaut Capital Partners at a valuation 'in excess of $20 million.'
Since its incorporation less than a year ago, in August 2015, Colorado-based Integrated Beverage Group (IBG) has experienced rapid growth as a result of expanding its seasoned leadership team and portfolio, and acquiring new funding.
Today, the company announces the appointment of Mike Salzberg as chairman, and Gary Turner as executive vice president of sales; IBG recently announced Brett Zimmerman, Master Sommelier, as its chief wine officer. Additionally, the company recently acquired Great Oregon Wine Company of McMinnville, Oregon, producers of the popular Rascal brand. IBG also recently completed a second round of private equity funding in partnership with Juggernaut Capital Partners, at a valuation in excess of $20M.
Salzberg is the former president of U.S. sales at Campbell Soup Company, senior vice president for sales and operations at Pepperidge Farm, and executive vice president of Total Wine & More. Most recently Mike served as president and COO of Advantage Sales and Marketing (now called Advantage Solutions). As chairman, Salzberg is providing strategic and relational leadership to build IBG's retail network.
Turner was most recently the vice president of operations for ARAMARK, and has held high-level leadership and operations roles with Pepperidge Farm and PepsiCo. As executive vice president of sales, Turner is leading the IBG retail strategy.
Zimmerman also owns Boulder Wine Merchant, and is a former Colorado general manager of the American Fine Wine Division of Southern Wine & Spirits. He will ensure the quality of all IBG wines, provide wine training to the company's staff and customers, and identify new opportunities to partner with top winemakers and growers. He is one of only 230 professionals worldwide who have earned the title of Master Sommelier since the first Master Sommelier Diploma Exam nearly 50 years ago.
'Any company is only as good as its people,' said IBG President Ari Walker, 'With the addition of Mike, Gary and Brett, IBG now fields a senior leadership team as experienced, committed and talented as any in the industry.'
IBG's current portfolio includes Rascal, Chime, Cara Mia and Reaper, to name a few; it will launch a new wine brand - Replica - nationwide next month. The company prides itself on delivering an extraordinary value proposition to both retailers and consumers with its award-winning wines.
