BOSTON, MA & TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, GreenSQL, a pioneer in the delivery of Unified Database Security and provider of the most downloaded database firewall engine, announced today that it has closed a $5.9 million funding round.

The Series B funding round, originally $3.8 million, was increased to $5.9 million. The investment was led by Rhodium and Atlantic Capital Partners, with participation from existing investor Magma Venture Capital, who funded the company's Series A round in 2009.

Gandyr and 2BAngels also participated in this round. Proceeds of the round will be used to drive GreenSQL's expansion to new markets and to bring the company's Unified Database Security solution into virtual and cloud architectures.

Building on experience as the most popular database security solution for MySQL- with over 100,000 copies downloaded in 198 countries - GreenSQL's unique approach delivers an all-in-one database security package for the SMB and enterprise markets.
