Gengo, an online translation service, announced that it has raised a $12 million funding round. The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from Iris Capital, Infocomm, NTT-IP and Saudi Telecom Ventures, as well as returning investor Atomico.


Gengo is a privately held company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and has an office in San Mateo, CA. The firm's mission is to be the easiest way for companies to go global, via innovative technology and attention to detail-- both qualities of Japan where Gengo was founded in 2008.
