Footfall123, the innovators in social media marketing technology, has today announced that it has received POUND 1.7 million in funding, in order to boost international expansion and enhance its product portfolio. The Series 'A' round is the combined total from a number of sources including venture capital firms Samos and Venrex, as well as a group of angels, including Ed Wray, founder of Betfair.

Footfall123 is a dynamic, fast-growth tech start-up specialising in loyalty marketing for retail and leisure brands of all sizes. The company provides user-friendly tools to empower brands, marketers and SMEs to create, control and manage their own loyalty-led marketing campaigns. Its flagship products are the entry-level Social Rocket, which equips businesses of all sizes with the tools to create compelling loyalty campaigns through Facebook that can be tracked in real time, and Footfall toolbox, a sophisticated solution for integrated marketing propositions. Footfall123 has an impressive portfolio of over 3,000 UK and international clients including Greene King, L'Oreal, and Byron Hamburgers restaurants.

The investment will go towards the development of new products designed to enhance the effectiveness of brands' loyalty programmes. In addition, with international expansion on the cards, the funding will be invested in global resources, whilst also bolstering the team in the start-ups' London headquarters.

Samos Investments is a private equity investor with a focus on high-growth European businesses, investing across a range of sectors including financial services, retail digital media and e-commerce. In addition, private investment firm Venrex concentrates primarily on identifying start-ups and growth companies with well-defined market demand and management teams that exhibit high growth and profit potential.

Ben Chesser, founder of Footfall123 comments: "In the last 12 months, we have grown significantly, building two great products and gaining a number of high profile clients such as L'Oreal and Greene King. We have established an excellent team of 19 in London alongside our satellite office in Spain and are growing internationally, so securing funding now is the right time in order to take the business to the next level.

"In addition to securing funding, we are also particularly pleased to be working with such an impressive selection of funders and angel investors who have an exemplary understanding of the tech start-up ecosystem and can provide invaluable advice and support."

Shan Drummond, Samos, comments: "We specialise in identifying fast-growth companies that are making waves in the technology sector, and that's why we were attracted to Footfall123. Their existing client base is impressive, and no doubt they will be working with more household names in the future."
Adrian Lloyd, an angel investor adds: "I have been impressed with the team, customer traction and the growth of Footfall123 since its launch, and am pleased to be working with them as they embark on a journey of international growth."
