Flayvr, creators of technology that brings deep context to digital photos and videos to improve organization and create new sharing experiences around life events, has secured $2M in new funding. The round is made up of investments from top investors and technology entrepreneurs, led by Kaedan Capital, former Microsoft Corporate Vice President Moshe Lichtman, Aviv Venture Capital, iAngels, former Microsoft Vice President of Strategy and Partnership Hank Vigil, Fritz Lanman, Adler Chomski and all of Flayvr's angel round investors including Rafi Gidron, Zohar Gilon, Yariv Gilat, and Partam Hightech. The funding will be used to double the Flayvr team size, expand company operations in the United States, and to improve and extend the Flayvr platform, which currently includes mobile gallery replacement apps for iOS and Android. Flayvr was also selected by Google as a Top Developer in 2014 and the Android version of Flayvr was featured as one of their Best Apps of 2013.

'In no uncertain terms, the personal mobile and online photo and video experience is broken. We are constantly capturing precious moments that either sit in the endless scroll of the gallery on our phones or are uploaded to a cardboard shoebox in the cloud and forgotten,' said Ron Levy, CEO and Founder of Flayvr. 'People want to go back and unearth prized photos, revisit memories, and share them with friends without digging through thousands of thumbnails.'

'Without context and smart organization that task is insurmountable,' continued Levy. 'That's the problem we set out to solve, first on mobile and extending into that big shoebox in the cloud and beyond mobile.'

According to recent estimates by Yahoo!, over 880 Billion photographs will be taken and stored online in 2014 alone. Flayvr has developed proprietary technology around big data media analytics, analyzing large amounts of contextual data around social, behavioral, user-generated, geolocation, computer-vision and time-based signals. Flayvr technology improves photo and video organization, as well as creates new contextual viewing and sharing experiences based on collected memories rather than individual photos.

'Personal memories continue to be scattered across multiple locations resulting in a huge management, backup and search challenge. Consumers' use of multiple devices has made this problem even worse. The Flayvr team has taken upon itself to solve this difficult problem once and for all with an elegant solution that embraces the multi-device reality on one hand and takes full advantage of cloud-based storage on the other. The Flayvr solution dramatically improves the entire photo and video capture and management experiences with a mix of smart automation and ease of use,' said Moshe Lichtman, who joined the Flayvr board as part of the investment. 'I'm impressed with the quality of the Flayvr team and with their vision. The momentum they have gained in a relatively short time on the leading mobile platforms validates their vision and the value of their solution.'

The Flayvr team is led by CEO Ron Levy and Adi Ashkenazi. Ron is a 15 year technology veteran, graduate of IDC and Tel Aviv University, and former member of the elite 8200 Intelligence unit in the Israeli military. CTO and co-founder of Flayvr Adi Ashkenazi is a former team leader at Fring and former senior software engineer at Modu with 10 years experience in software development. Adi is also a graduate of Tel Aviv University and alumni of the 8200 intelligence unit.
