BURLINGAME, CALIFORNIA, Tablet gaming developer Hammer & Chisel has received $8.2 million to develop its MOBA game Fates Forever.
A video-game development company with a social-gaming pedigree has received a $8.2 million investment to develop its next game.

Hammer & Chisel received the funds to develop a tablet-based game called Fates Forever, according to published reports. The project is headed by Jason Citron, the co-creator of a social gaming platform called OpenFeint, which was eventually acquired by Japanese gaming company GREE.

Hammer & Chisel is a gaming company hoping to be the biggest developer of the post-PC era. Its employees have worked on successful Web ventures, developed traditional games, and illustrated trading cards. The company believes that social networking and gaming technology can be combined to create a magical experience.
