Extend Fertility Announces $15M Series A
2019-02-04
NEW YORK, NY, Fertility services company disrupting the way fertility treatment has traditionally been provided, today announced a $15M Series A investment.
Extend Fertility, a leading fertility services company disrupting the way fertility treatment has traditionally been provided, today announced a $15M Series A investment by Regal Healthcare Capital Partners and the appointment of Anne Hogarty as CEO. The Series A investment will allow Extend Fertility to deepen its commitment to new business lines and launch expansion into new geographic markets. As CEO, Hogarty will champion Extend Fertility's mission to create more fertility options for all people and lead the company into its next phase of growth and expansion.
"Extend Fertility is at an exciting inflection point, with egg freezing becoming mainstream and the recent launch of our service for patients dealing with infertility," said Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder Joshua U. Klein, MD. "With Anne's understanding of millennial lifestyles and passion for helping them have families when they are ready, she is the perfect person to lead and expand our company's vision and footprint."
Extend Fertility launched in 2016 at a time when traditional IVF practices approached egg freezing as a side business. Extend Fertility was the first company to recognize that women looking to freeze their eggs deserved clinically excellent care and support in a tailored and individualized setting.
"Extend Fertility created an entirely new model for egg freezing. They saw a need in the market, and not only met it but made it accessible," said David Kim, MD, Co-Founder and General Partner of Regal Healthcare Capital Partners. "As a firm seeking to advance healthcare practices, Extend Fertility is a natural partner and we look forward to supporting their growth."
Since launch, Extend Fertility has become one of the largest providers of planned egg freezing (cryopreservation) in the country, completing over 1,000 cycles in 2018. Last year, the company expanded its services to those experiencing infertility by launching Expect Fertility, which offers a full range of infertility treatments, including IVF and IUI.
"Women's biological clocks and life paths don't always match up; our rapid growth, and the stories we hear from our patients, demonstrate that," said Hogarty. "I am deeply inspired by what Extend Fertility has achieved so far and am thrilled to lead the expansion of our egg freezing services around the country, as well as to bring the same thoughtful care approach to those struggling with infertility."
Hogarty most recently served as Chief Business Officer at Prelude Fertility and President of MyEggBank, Prelude's donor egg division and the largest frozen donor egg bank in North America. Prior to Prelude, she held multiple roles at BuzzFeed, the global digital media and entertainment company. As Vice President of International Business, Hogarty doubled BuzzFeed's international revenue and launched BuzzFeed's first joint venture, BuzzFeed Japan with Yahoo! Japan. She is a graduate of Harvard College and received her MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.
