EMRes Technologies Inc. reports receiving $2.9 million Series A round of funding.

The company was founded earlier this year and collected the capital from four investors, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

It™s unclear what type of technology EMRes Technologies is marketing. CEO Brett Butler said he planned to operate it in stealth mode until October or November.

'We're developing products we think are important to the audio space,' he said.

Butler declined to provide the names of EMRes Technologies' investors. But the SEC filing lists directors with mailing addresses at Oklahoma-based Square Deal Capital Inc., and Novus Via LP, which is based in Nevada.

Butler was previously the principal of the RidgeTech Group, an Austin-based consulting firm. He was also a vice president and general manager for Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and the president and CEO of California-based Axiom Microdevices Inc. from 2005 to mid-2009, according to his online profile.
