PALO ALTO, CA, According to published reports, E la Carte has raised $4 million in a new financing round. The firm is developing tablets to be installed in restaurants, serving as both waiter and cash register.
Founded out of MIT in 2008, E la Carte leverages the power of technology to make hospitality more fun for consumers and more profitable for operators.
The firm has more than 20 employees with offices in Silicon Valley, Boston, Chicago, and New York City. E la Carte has raised three major rounds of funding, with investors including Y-Combinator, SV Angel, Lightbank, and the creators of Dropbox, Farmville, & Reddit, plus Skip Sack (former chairperson of the National Restaurant Association) and other notable restauranteurs.
