FRAMINGHAM, MA, Disruptor Beam announced today an $8.5 million Series B financing.
Disruptor Beam, a company focused on turning the world's greatest entertainment brands into successful games loved by highly connected customers, announced today an $8.5 million Series B financing. The new funds will help to fuel the continued growth of the company and its three games - Star Trek Timelines, Game of Thrones Ascent and the upcoming The Walking Dead: March to War - throughout 2017. This announcement comes on the heels of a banner year in 2016, in which the company doubled its headcount and grew revenue by over 300 percent. This latest round was led by GrandBanks Capital and Romulus Capital, with additional participation from other new and existing investors.
Disruptor Beam's Series A round closed in late 2014. The company subsequently launched its second game, Star Trek Timelines, in January 2016, and secured the license to develop a new mobile game based on Robert Kirkman's acclaimed comic book series, The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead: March to War is set to launch in 2017.
