CloudApp Grabs $2M in Seed Funding
2016-07-28
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, CloudApp, the platform for quickly capturing, annotating, and sharing visual content, today announced launch of the first visual search for images and screenshots, as well as its $2 million Series Seed financing.
New CloudApp 4 searches information contained within any image or screenshot and offers analytics to track user views. It also includes a Business Edition with enhanced enterprise security, compliance and control, custom data hosting (via Amazon S3, Google, Box), and automated user provisioning (via Google Apps, OneLogin, Okta).
More than two million designers, developers, marketers, and support teams use CloudApp for faster communication, increased productivity, and enterprise-level security. In 18 months, CloudApp grew revenue 4x thanks to new enterprise customers like Zendesk, Foursquare and MailChimp.
'I no longer waste time trying to explain complex workflows or edits to be made or get lost in file attachments,' said ShareThis Senior Vice President Daniel Ruben Odio. 'Instead, I constantly use CloudApp to capture, comment, and share via a link.'
Visual content attracts 94 percent more views and is 40 times more likely to be shared than text-heavy content, according to HubSpot. Communication is fundamentally becoming more visual, forcing businesses to change how they communicate and turn to CloudApp, the first and only visual collaboration platform. CloudApp also offers a free, unlimited plan for individuals.
'If a picture is worth a thousand words,' said Tyler Koblasa, CloudApp CEO, 'CloudApp makes all one thousand of those words searchable. Users can search any media file, image or screen capture by text, object or even color.'
CloudApp raised $2 million in seed financing from Tikhon Bernstam, founder of Scribd and Parse (acquired by Facebook); Dyn CSO Kyle York; China Rock Capital Management; Ride Ventures; The Gramercy Fund; Green D Ventures; Barracuda Networks founder Michael Perone; former Symantec CTO Amit Mital; Buffer CEO Joel Gascoigne; Wikia and Fastly founder Gil Penchina; Involver founder Tyler Willis; The SaaS Syndicate; and others.
