NEW YORK, NY, Leading provider of real-time engagement solutions for mobile and web platforms, today announced that Intel Capital has made an undisclosed investment in the company.
CafeX Communications, a leading provider of real-time engagement solutions for mobile and web platforms, today announced that Intel Capital has made an undisclosed investment in the company. Founded in 2013, CafeX has evolved into a market leader for its innovative software platform that leverages WebRTC technology to power contextual real-time communication experiences within enterprise applications.

'Over the past year, we have seen a strong commercial adoption of our WebRTC-based contextual communications solutions in several sectors,' said Rami Musallam, president and chief executive officer of CafeX. 'When combined with innovation from market leaders such as Intel to deliver hardware accelerated technology that enables the integration of server software vital to encryption, media processing and transcoding, we see the opportunities to engage new markets rapidly increasing.

'This investment will help the company expand our reach into the marketplace and serve many more businesses that are looking to enhance customer engagement,' Musallam added.

CafeX's Live-AssistĀ® real-time collaboration solution was recognized with Best of Show honors at the 2014 Enterprise Connect conference, the largest business communications conference in the United States. The company also received a New Product Innovation Award from global market research leaders Frost & Sullivan in July 2014. CafeX has expanded its channel through a combination of direct, reseller and OEM relationships in recent months. CafeX is currently working with many top global banks and several U.S.-based insurance companies, as well as market leading vendors in retail, electronic medical records (EMR) and customer relationship management (CRM) industries.

'WebRTC is an exciting and transformative technology for peer to peer communications,' said Michael Greene, vice president of Intel's Software and Services Group and General Manager for System Technologies and Optimization. 'Combining the IntelĀ® Collaboration Suite for WebRTC with CafeX's innovative products will provide delightful communications experiences for our customers.'

Intel Capital Directors Arun Chetty and Vibhor Rastogi led the investment.
