BOSTON, MA, Buzzient, a software developer, has raised $1 million in a round of venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A total of nine investors participated in the round.
Buzzient provides a next-generation solution for social media analytics and integration of this valuable content with enterprise applications. The firm believes that the explosion in user-generated content and many-to-many communication on the Internet will lead to entirely new forms of marketing, customer service and product development. The mass and complexity of data can only be processed by enterprise-class systems, and that's what Buzzient builds.
The company was founded in early 2008 by a group of experienced serial entrepreneurs with strong backgrounds in enterprise computing and web technology. Buzzient's core technology was developed as a result of research conducted in collaboration with Google at the Center for Digital Business at MIT
The founders and employees of Buzzient have worked with companies such as Oracle, Sybase, Liberate, Namics and Scopus/Siebel and have generated over $1B in market capitalization in IPO's, M&A and trade sales.
