Ubersense, the sports technology company that helps athletes improve at any sport, today announced that it has raised a $1.1M seed funding round from Atlas Venture, Google Ventures, Boston Seed Capital and various prominent angel investors. The TechStars Boston 2012 company has created a mobile video and collaboration platform that makes it easy for coaches at all levels, from parents to Olympic trainers, to help athletes in any sport get better - anytime, anywhere. Olympic teams from around the world including USA Gymnastics and USA Volleyball used Ubersense to train for London 2012.

Using an iPhone or iPad with the Ubersense app, coaches or athletes can video-tape and analyze their technique, compare themselves with pros, track their progress; coaches and peers can provide feedback not only in-person, but remotely.

The Ubersense app's main feature and most powerful asset is its innovative video-based feedback experience, called Uberview. An Uberview can contain a coach's audio feedback, instructive drawings, alterations to video playback, and even comparisons; all are easily captured into an Uberview video that they can easily be shared with an athlete, parent, or peer in-person or remotely. For instance, a PGA Pro can create Uberviews to help clients review and practice their swings before the next class; a high-school baseball coach can create Uberviews to help students visualize the progress they've made on their pitching action; or a gymnastics coach can compare students' landing off a balance beam to that of Aly Raisman.
