MeetMindful, a relationship platform that connects a large, growing number of people pursuing a healthy, mindful lifestyle, announced it has raised $1.8 million in a seed round from top investors in mindfulness, dating, and SaaS technology.

"At Bridge Builders Collaborative, we partner with leading companies in the global movement towards helping people live happier, less stressful lives. We see significant potential in MeetMindful to facilitate authentic relationships for the millions of people pursuing more mindful, healthy lifestyles," said Bridge Builders Collaborative's Operating Partner, Charlie Hartwell.
Mindfulness is on the rise and quickly making its way into mainstream culture. According to LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) data, there are 90 million people who live or are interested in a more healthy, sustainable lifestyle (including mindfulness). Businesses are taking note and creating new mindfulness-based apps, studios, corporate programs and more. However, MeetMindful noticed there was still room to pioneer the growth of a new category - the intersection of mindfulness and dating. 36 million singles live a healthy, mindful lifestyle and seek others who share similar values, but until MeetMindful launched in 2015, there was no dating service tailored to their lifestyle. MeetMindful offers an alternative to the superficial nature of today's popular swipe dating apps by instead implementing matching capabilities based on core values and lifestyle choices.
In the last 12 months alone, MeetMindful's overall revenue has increased by 500% and the number of users has increased by 400%. Today it is estimated that over 300,000 people have used MeetMindful. Building on this momentum, this most recent round of investment brings the total funding up to $2.7 million. This funding will help MeetMindful achieve the goal of national brand awareness as a key innovator in the ever-expanding mindfulness market. MeetMindful plans to add new features to the interface, including an Android version of the app, in-app dating coaching, as well as a new in-app game called Nicebreakers.
"Our mission is to empower mindful people to make meaningful connections every day, and we're grateful to have the support of our investors to help us achieve this on a greater scale," said MeetMindful's CEO and Founder, Amy Baglan. "2017 is going to be a very exciting year." MeetMindful is available for iOS in the App Store and available on web. For more information, please visit www.meetmindful.com.
