Venture Capital News: Orb Health Inks $3.2M Series A Round
2016-11-29
PHOENIX, AZ, Collaborative care technology leader Orb Health today announced it has secured $3.2 million in total funding with a Series A fundraising round.
The Series A round was led by Mt Vernon Investments and with participation from Green Park & Golf and a number of returning seed investors.
The company will use the capital to expand and accelerate growth of its intelligent collaborative care platform for physician-owned practices and large health systems. Orb Health provides a turnkey solution and service that empowers providers to engage more deeply with patients for better care outcomes while maximizing chronic care management revenue opportunities.
'This funding is an important validation of our progress and vision for a new standard of technology-enabled, patient-centered collaborative care that ultimately advances healing,' said Orb Health CEO and co-founder Paul Oran.
'Providers are under enormous pressure to engage patients, leverage technology and comply with ever-changing healthcare regulations. Orb Health makes it easy to succeed both financially and on behalf of patients.'
Orb Health's platform redefines how providers and patients connect and engage in chronic care management. Its fully compliant, cloud-based technology optimizes clinical workflow by integrating EMRs, real time data from wearable fitness and healthcare trackers, proprietary patient engagement tools, deep healthcare information, and more to deliver a higher standard of collaborative care.
'In today's value-based care system, healthcare providers are challenged to reconcile revenue demands with patient outcomes,' said Dr. Clay Heighten, co-founder of Green Park & Golf. 'Orb Health takes the burden off large health systems and independent practices alike, providing an intelligent plug-and-play platform that helps them remain cutting edge, compliant and optimized for both practice and patient success.'
Orb Health supports this platform with a full service component to manage patient on boarding and care calls. All care team and patient engagement activities are tracked using up-to-date chronic care management CPT codes to maximize provider reimbursement opportunities.
'As a physician that is also the owner of a practice, I am constantly juggling technology, compliance, and care team administration with patient needs,' said Dr. Michael Williams. 'Orb Health is unique in its combination of patient engagement and care tools with practice revenue support. Orb serves as an extension of my practice so I can focus on patients, even alerting me to urgent issues that patients sometimes ignore.'
Orb Health will be exhibiting and demonstrating their collaborative care platform and Chronic Care Management solution December 5-7, 2016 at the 28th annual Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) National Forum on Quality Improvement in Healthcare at booth 601 in Orlando, FL.
