HDmessaging, the Enhanced Mobile Messaging company, today announced that it has closed $3m in funding to help accelerate its already impressive growth. The investment was led by GrandBanks Capital, with participation from IDG Ventures, Nexit Ventures and Lighthouse Capital Partners.

HDmessaging provides its white label messaging service to mobile operators with a combined user base of over 800 million consumers to help them combat the threat of OTT messaging apps like WhatsApp, Line and WeChat. HDmessaging already lists Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel, Singtel, Idea, T-Mobile and Maxis amongst its operator partners and will use the funds to further expand its customer base.

HDmessaging also provides its patented MagicWords platform to both OTT messaging and operator partners. The MagicWords technology enhances messaging with contextual links and recommendations based on the content of the conversation and the profiles of the users chatting.

HDmessaging currently processes 1 billion messages a month, growing at 200% per quarter.
