SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Newly established player in the booming sharing economy and services-on-demand industries, today closed a $7 million Series A funding.
TaskEasy, a newly established player in the booming sharing economy and services-on-demand industries, today closed a $7 million Series A funding. The technology startup offers on-demand, online ordering and delivery of exterior home services like lawn mowing, snow clearing and holiday lighting installation - saving people time, money and headaches with these common tasks.
The majority of funding came from Grotech Ventures, Access Venture Partners and existing investor, KickStart Seed Fund. TaskEasy also announced that former ServiceMagic Co-CEO & Founder Michael Beaudoin not only invested in the company but also has joined its board of directors.
'TaskEasy's unique technology, which allows consumers to quickly and easily buy high-quality services for a fair price with complete confidence the work will be performed, is a winning business model worth investing in,' said KickStart Seed Fund Managing Director Gavin Christiansen. 'Their track record clearly demonstrates this.'
Since its founding in April 2013, TaskEasy has grown to 49 employees, performed services in 1,630 U.S. cities, created a network of more than 5,000 contractors, and now covers more than 95 percent of the U.S. TaskEasy's closest competitor offers services in only 30 cities. All services provided by TaskEasy are insured, quality guaranteed and performed by certified services providers.
'We've been watching the growth and success of TaskEasy for a while now. They're destined to become a household name brand,' said Grotech Ventures General Partner Lawson DeVries. 'They make buying services as easy as buying a product in a store.'
'The on-demand economy is coming quickly and we believe TaskEasy to be an early leader in this space,' added Access Venture Partners Managing Director Kirk Holland.
According to TaskEasy CEO Ken Davis, TaskEasy is a true collaborative economy, helping everyday people like property owners, busy professionals, the elderly, single mothers and countless others with the burden of common exterior home services. The company also manages all scheduling, invoicing and other administrative tasks for service providers, making them more efficient and their businesses more profitable. An increasing number of service providers have become so busy with TaskEasy jobs that they've turned off their advertising and are able to just focus on performing the work.
'Customers continually tell us how amazed they are at how easy our technology makes ordering lawn mowing or snow removal with just a few clicks on their computer or smart phone,' said Davis. 'Even though we've grown more than 300 percent over the last 18 months, this funding will help us not only increase the quality and variety of services, but it will also allow us to broaden the suite of tools we're providing to our service providers.'
According to Davis, the company makes sure all service providers are prescreened, all pricing is pre-set to fair market value (the company uses a sophisticated array of algorithms to compute these prices) and all tasks are insured. In addition, the company provides a money-back guarantee to ensure the property owner is completely satisfied.
'I think we're making a lot of friends out there because we free people up to do other things on their weekends besides lawn care,' said Davis. 'An independent survey of our service providers revealed we're saving them time and increasing their bottom-line profits. This, in turn, is helping local economies nationwide.'

About TaskEasy
