Venture Capital News: Last Energy Secures $40M Series B Round

2024-08-29
WASHINGTON, DC, Last Energy, a full-service developer of 20 MWe micro-nuclear power plants, announced today that it raised $40 million for its Series B.
The round, closed earlier this year, brings total capital raised to $64 million since the company's founding in 2019. Last Energy's Series B will enable the company to continue expanding its team and invest in project development as it works to deploy its first plant, targeting a 2026 online date. Investors for the round include Gigafund, the Autodesk Foundation, and a series of family offices.

Last Energy is a full-service developer of micro modular 20 MWe nuclear power plants with the goal of enabling global clean energy access and decarbonization in a way that is rapid, scalable, and economically competitive. Last Energy's first product, the PWR-20 micro-nuclear power plant, is designed to address the inefficiencies that have traditionally made nuclear development prohibitively complex and expensive. By owning all aspects of plant delivery and dramatically reducing the time and cost of delivery, Last Energy is transforming the nuclear power industry to unlock clean, reliable baseload energy for industrial customers throughout Europe.
