Objective Logistics, the leader in Talent Optimization technology, has raised $5.3M in series A funding. The round was led by Atlas Venture along-side Google Ventures and Next View Ventures. The funding will be used to scale operations to meet customer demand and to extend Objective Logistics' MUSE platform from the restaurant industry into other verticals.
'The adoption of MUSE by our customers, and the positive effect it is having on sales and service, is both gratifying and exciting,' said Philip Beauregard, co-founder and CEO of Objective Logistics. 'I'm excited. We've recruited an amazing team, built a killer product in MUSE, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.'
MUSE is Objective Logistics' software platform. On the front end, MUSE uses game dynamics to create a fun and competitive environment; ranking salespeople (waitstaff and hourly workers) on a leader board and rewarding them with their choice of shifts, and other prizes, automatically based on their performance. On the back end, MUSE analyzes all the data produced in a given shift, day or week to provide managers with insight into individual performance, and allowing them to make changes that will enhance the customer's experience and increase customer engagement.
'Objective Logistics is truly ushering in the new era of workforce and performance management,' said Bill Brayer, Senior VP of Operations at 5Napkin Burger, one of the nation's fastest-growing restaurant concepts. 'It provides us with the tools to help employees self-motivate and participate in their own development while improving sales, service and productivity.'
Objective Logistics has built out its management team with key executives from successful emerging and public companies and relocated to new office space in downtown Boston. Its customer base has grown to nine brands, representing more than 70 restaurants. Customers consistently see an increase of two to eight percent in top line sales and marked improvement in guest satisfaction.
'Improvements of this scale are virtually unheard of in the restaurant industry, never mind industry in general,' said Jeff Fagnan, partner at Atlas Venture. 'Objective Logistics is the pioneer and first-mover in the new and growing talent optimization space. With new entrants increasingly coming into the field, we have no doubt that they have the right team and technology to win.'
