NEW YORK, NY, Online ticket sales startup SeatGeek has raised $2.2 million from existing investors, in support of its acquisition of former competitor FanSnap.
A ticketing startup that searches other existing ticket sites to find users the best deals online has acquired one of its former competitors through a venture funding.
New York, NY-based SeatGeek announced the acquisition of FanSnap, which had been owned by Wize Commerce, on its blog yesterday. FanSnap was an established competitor when SeatGeek launched in 2009. FanSnap's users will be redirected to SeatGeek's site, and the operations will be merged under the SeatGeek name.
According to published reports, the acquisition has been funded by a $2.2 million venture funding from existing investors.
