NEW YOEK, NY, Fortscale today announced it has raised $10 million in funding led by Intel Capital and Blumberg Capital.
Fortscale (
www.fortscale.com) today announced it has raised $10 million in funding led by Intel Capital and Blumberg Capital. Fortscale's existing investors, including the Swarth Group, have participated in the round as well. The latest funding comes after proven private beta testing at leading enterprises in the US and Israel, and will be used to extend the company's research and development, engineering and analytics groups and promote partnerships. The funding will also be used to establish the company's new headquarters in Silicon Valley and rapidly expand Fortscale's Israeli based R&D and analytics teams in order to support new Fortune 1000 customers.
Fortscale, founded in 2012, turns enterprise big data into User Intelligence, making users' profiles and behavior visible and easy to investigate. Fortscale's solution offers enterprises a proactive, intelligence-driven approach to cyber security based on big data analytics to help defend themselves against the scourge of targeted attacks and under the radar cyber campaigns that threaten their valuable intellectual property and financial assets.
'We are thrilled to receive such a powerful endorsement from the investment community,' said Idan Tendler, CEO & Co-Founder of Fortscale. 'Recent infamous security breaches are live examples of the growing challenges enterprises face from user related threats such as malicious insider threats as well as targeted attacks using hijacked user credentials. Fortscale's solution looks to solve this problem by delivering User Intelligence to help discover and investigate suspicious behavior and generate leads about possible security breaches,' he added. 'Fortscale brings unique vision and intelligence by providing the security analyst a comprehensive tool set, machine learning algorithms infrastructure and canned analytics that leverage existing security measures and provide fast results.'
Fortscale enhances SOC teams and security analyst's capabilities to that of advanced data scientists, while leveraging their existing infrastructure and know how. Fortscale's focus on an enterprise's users allows security teams to gain insights about malicious or rogue users, to pinpoint high-risk user behavior and access activity. It is aimed at producing User Intelligence based on extracting existing big data repositories (e.g. SIEM) by leveraging machine learning algorithms, canned reports, visualization tools and queries. These analytics analyze historical log data and run peer analysis on it. The result is focusing the security analysts' efforts on the most important events, leads and threats, enabling them to make better, faster decisions.
'Enterprise security teams today need to be savvy about analytics to deal with a range of threats,' said Marcos Battisti, Vice President and Managing Director of Intel Capital. 'Fortscale's solution gives those security teams the resources they need to produce more intelligence and become more efficient, regardless of their technical know-how.'
Intel Capital Director Uri Arazy led the investment, and Managing Director Ken Elefant also participated.
'Fortscale is addressing a problem that enterprises across the globe are facing: a lack of User Intelligence,' said David J. Blumberg, Managing Partner, Blumberg Capital. 'Fortscale's ambitious and experienced team has developed the tools enterprises need to leverage big data to actionable User Intelligence.'
'Fortscale has emerged as a key player in the big data security analytics space due to its vision, technology and team,' said Oren Rozenbach, Partner, Swarth Group. 'The funding will continue the company's momentum as it helps enterprises protect themselves from a new breed of cyber security threats.'
