2014-03-24
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Marketplace that connects the best technology talent with full-time positions at over 700+ companies in San Francisco and New York, today announced it has secured a $15 million Series A round.
Hired, the first two-sided marketplace that connects the best technology talent with full-time positions at over 700+ companies in San Francisco and New York, today announced it has secured a $15 million Series A round led by Crosslink Capital and Sierra Ventures, with additional participation from SoftTech VC and Sherpa Ventures.
'The size of the round, led by insiders who approached us to get greater ownership, reflects Hired's tremendous traction since its launch just over a year ago,' noted Matt Mickiewicz, the CEO of the company. 'We're now facilitating over 1,000 interviews per month, our NYC office reached profitability in its second month, and we are fielding applications from over 8,000 engineers per month, of which just the top 5% are selected. We grew 400% in 2013 and our growth rate is accelerating in 2014. This capital will allow us to aggressively expand our service offerings and global footprint to improve the career search process for the best technology talent.'
Hired is the first marketplace that empowers the best engineers, designers, product managers and data scientists to conduct a job search on their terms. 'On Hired, a candidate will be seen by hundreds of companies and will have transparency as to the role and compensation (including salary and equity) before agreeing to interview, so as to ensure everyone is on the same page,' notes Doug Feirstein, co-founder of the company. The company also pairs each candidate with a dedicated Talent Advocate to represent their best interests and help answer any questions along the way.
The typical candidate on Hired receives 10-15 offers in just 7 days, after which their profile is removed and no longer accessible to employers. They can choose as many, or as few companies to interview with as they like, and Hired pays a $2000 signing bonus when they accept a job through the marketplace. Over 100 companies, including OpenTable, Lyft Whisper, Eventbrite, Lookout, Gilt, NextDoor, Clearslide, MixPanel and Lyft have hired technology talent through Hired, with some companies hiring over 10 employees in the past year.
