Venture Capital News: Outreach Raises $17.5M in Series B
2016-06-22
SEATTLE, WA, Outreach has closed $17.5 million in Series B funding.
Outreach, the sales acceleration platform, today announced that it has closed $17.5 million in Series B funding to help sales professionals crush their sales goals and outperform their competition. Trinity Ventures led the round, with participation from Microsoft Ventures and previous investors. Sales veteran and Trinity general partner, Karan Mehandru, has joined the Outreach board of directors. Funds will be used to build up the marketing and enterprise sales teams, as well as to continue investing in the product as the company rapidly scales to meet increased demand for Outreach's first-of-its-kind, enterprise-grade platform.
'Outreach has developed a platform that actually helps salespeople close deals, not just add another reporting layer for management. It is a platform of action, an operating system for sales, that prompts sales professionals to be the best version of themselves by automating their entire workflow across channels,' said Mehandru. 'There is nothing else like it. Outreach is truly pioneering the transformation of the sales tech stack and making heroes out of sales professionals.'
'At Microsoft Ventures, we are very excited about the next generation of cloud-based enterprise applications,' said Nagraj Kashyap, corporate vice president, Microsoft Ventures. 'Outreach certainly fits the bill, harnessing the power of the cloud to deliver an elegant, unique solution to satisfy enterprise sales team needs.'
Introduced at a time when the traditional sales cycle lags, Outreach has channeled the latest advances in technology to develop a sales communications platform with best practices baked into its core, making it remarkably easy for professionals and teams not only to stay on top of each lead, but close more deals and upsell more customers. It is the first sales platform to optimize the entire communication process by combining workflow intelligence to make every activity faster and more effective. Currently tens of thousands of sales professionals from companies like Adobe, CenturyLink, Adroll, AppDynamics, and Zillow rely on Outreach to dramatically improve sales performance.
'We like to say that Outreach gives sales people superpowers,' said Manuel Medina, CEO and co-founder of Outreach. 'It has been incredibly rewarding to see how thousands of customers are utilizing Outreach to blow away their sales goals. Now, with the backing of Trinity Ventures, Microsoft Ventures, and our existing investors, we can bring about a total sales transformation. This is an exciting time for Outreach as well as for sales teams, big and small.'
