FARMINGTON, CT, Leading online recruiting service that uses proprietary technology to help employers find great employees, today announced that they have raised over $350,000.
Recruiter.com, a leading online recruiting service that uses proprietary technology to help employers find great employees, today announced that they have raised over $350,000 in investments from a group of angel investors.
'With a growing user base and over 150 clients already, we see tremendous opportunity,' said Miles Jennings, CEO of Recruiter.com. 'The investment will help accelerate development of services that help employers find the right hires.'
The investment came from private investors in Hartford, Providence and Chicago. The angel round was led by Thomas Zipp, a noted Connecticut businessperson and investor. Zipp was also appointed to the Board of Directors.
The company also formed a leadership advisory board and named its first two members. Additional members will be named over the course of the year. The initial advisory board members are Douglas Roth, Director for Venture Investments at Connecticut Innovations, and David Wieland, a noted angel investor and CEO of RIVS, a digital interviewing platform.

About Douglas Roth
Douglas Roth is Director, Investments at Connecticut Innovations, Inc. (CI), the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut's innovative, growing companies and the state's most active early-stage investor. Early in his career, Douglas spent more than a decade in the telecommunications industry, primarily focused on international voice, data and IP networks.
Douglas earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in economics and mathematics from Boston University and his M.S. in electrical engineering also from Boston University. He received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in entrepreneurial and strategic Management, where he was the commencement speaker. Douglas is a competitive distance runner and avid backpacker. He lives in Manchester, CT, with his wife and two children.
About David Wieland
David is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He has exited two companies (Innflux and Powersurge) and currently serves as CEO of RIVS and owner of iEstates. RIVS (http://www.rivs.com) provides a cloud-based voice and video interviewing platform for enterprise companies, including over a dozen Fortune 500s. iEstates is a media company that owns and operates sites like Austin.com, MBAs.com, Wrong.com and Bourbon.com.
As an active angel investor (http://www.angel.co/david-wieland), David cofounded the Notre Dame-affiliated IrishAngels and has personal investments in 50+ startups, including Change.org, NoRedInk, Archively, Ginkgotree, Chime, Datanyze and Good.co. He also serves as Entrepreneur in Residence for the University of Notre Dame, consulting N.D. entrepreneurs.
Through the Amelia Claire Foundation, in memory of their daughter, David and his wife, along with their three other children, assist families who have lost children. David enjoys fishing, skiing, traveling and philanthropy. David received his B.A. from Notre Dame and his M.B.A. from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
About Thomas Zipp
Thomas Zipp is an experienced investor, corporate executive, and board member with a strong background in accounting and finance. His extensive 35-year career has included the management and development of many successful business acquisitions, turnaround transactions, and major real estate investments. Zipp has served as Director and Owner of MDF systems, CEO of an electrical products company and Treasurer/Controller of the Smith Gates Corporation, a 650 employee company where he oversaw investments, financials, personnel, and accounting. He is currently Principal Owner and Developer of a major industrial plant which is being redeveloped into incubator space.
An active member of the community, Zipp has served as Chairman of the Farmington Economic Development Commission, Selectman for the City of Bristol, President of the Country Club of Farmington, President of the Rotary society and Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee for the Boys Club, in addition to numerous other organizations both current and past. An avid fisherman and golfer, Zipp lives with his family in Farmington, CT.
