2015-11-20
NEW YORK, NY, VoyagerMed announced the closing of its series seed round led by CL Global Healthcare.
VoyagerMed is pleased to announce the closing of its series seed round led by CL Global Healthcare, Inc. This investment will help launch the enterprise version of its successful on-line marketplace for medical tourism to the best U.S. doctors. People from all over the world have used VoyagerMed to help find the best doctors. And now with the closing of this investment round, the company will take their medical tourism model to companies throughout the U.S. with an expanded enterprise healthcare model.
'We are excited to be a part of the mission of VoyagerMed, to bring the world's patients to the best doctors in the U.S. for health care,' said Mr. Hong Zhou, of CL Global Healthcare Fund. 'We are eager to see the company expand to the corporate sector with their medical tourism platform that will help companies minimize costs. Also, the CL Global Healthcare's network in China will be a strategic part of the expanding presence of the VoyagerMed platform. Part of the growth stage for the company is to create a platform for traveling patients that want access to the best American doctors and reach a broader, global audience through our Chinese relationship.'
'I am very proud to collaborate with CL Global Healthcare,' said VoyagerMed CEO Anthony Girand. 'It is validation of our model and shows that the future of health care includes a more global mindset for the great physicians and surgeons that are part of the growing VoyagerMed network. The plan is to build the first independent brand for medical tourism that you can trust. Much like innovative centers Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson have done to expand their brands globally, we will bring that same marketing power to independent doctors all over the U.S.'
Anthony Girand and his co-founder and chief medical advisor Struan Coleman, MD/PhD who is on staff at the leading orthopedic surgery center in the U.S., launched the VoyagerMed platform to help expand the reach of American doctors. The doctors who are part of the network currently include Brian Cole, Harrison Lee, David Rappaport, Ronald Hillock, Victoria Veytsman, Bahram Ghaderi, Shahin Gadir, Dr. Raj and many others. The specialties currently served by VoyagerMed include orthopedics, spine, plastic surgery, fertility, cancer, heart and dental.
VoyagerMed is a Startup Health Academy company and Anthony Girand is a proud member of their Health care Transformer platform.
Mr. Hong Zhou, who represents CL Global Healthcare in New York, will be joining the company's board of directors.
