Venture Capital News: VenueNext Secures New Financing
2018-05-08
SANTA CLARA, CA, VenueNext announced today an investment from Intel Capital.
As part of the investment and business strategy, Intel Sports and the Intel Retail Solutions Division will work with VenueNext to integrate technologies to further transform the mobile guest experience at venues and stadiums nationwide.
"With the investment from Intel Capital and by integrating its technology, we can further enhance our mobile offering to make the guest experience even better and drive more fans into the stadiums," said John Paul, CEO and Founder of VenueNext. "The first mobile integration will be with the Intel True View technology, which will provide fans with immersive 5K content that provides the clearest possible high definition images right from their smartphone, making them feel like they are on the field and in the game."
VenueNext's technology dramatically improves the guest experience at a venue, from ordering food and merchandise to watching replays and upgrading, buying or selling tickets, all in a single app on a smartphone. Used by the biggest names in professional sports, hospitality and healthcare, VenueNext has a track record of increasing efficiency and guest app adoption, and delivering valuable data insights that enable its customers to improve operations and increase revenue. VenueNext customers like the San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Timberwolves and the Orlando Magic have generated millions of dollars in increased revenues from leveraging the power of VenueNext's platform at their respective venues.
"Intel Sports is delivering the next-generation fan experience by allowing fans to be transported into the venue and view the game from every vantage point," said James Carwana, vice president and general manager of Intel Sports. "Together with VenueNext's ability to pull together multiple data streams from a venue to improve the fan experience, we'll provide even more immersive ways to engage with the biggest moments on the field - by making Intel True View 360-replay content available in app, right at users' fingertips."
Intel True View innovation includes 5K high resolution cameras and data crunching technology. The cameras capture volumetric data (height, width and depth) using voxels, a 3D pixel. It all uniquely renders spectacular 3D replays and creates a multi-perspective view of key moments of the game.
