Focused on the development of therapeutic microbes, Synlogic was co-founded in Fall 2013 by Dr. Mahadevia, Atlas Venture; Jim Collins Ph.D., William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor, University Professor, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and Professor of Medicine at Boston University; and Timothy Lu M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The company was incubated as part of the Atlas Venture seed program.
