Shef helps talented cooks make a meaningful income by cooking and selling homemade food to their communities. Founded in 2018 by Alvin Salehi (former White House Technology Advisor under President Obama and founder of Code.gov) and Joey Grassia (former Facebook employee and two-time food startup entrepreneur), Shef works with immigrants, refugees, and out-of-work restaurant cooks to help them sell high-quality homemade meals in their local communities. Shef is currently available in various regions across the country with plans to expand to more in the near future.
